Victor Hugo Gallas Cervo of Greenville inducted into Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society

Victor Hugo Gallas Cervo of Greenville is one of six Clemson University students inducted into the Nu Chapter of Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi) Honor Society at a recent ceremony on the Clemson University campus .

Cervo is majoring in Automotive Engineering.

Cervo is pursuing a doctorate in automotive engineering. He earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Clemson. His goals are to become a professional engineer in the automotive engine combusion field and to be able to explore new technologies alone the way toward the path of ultra clean and low fuel-consumption engines and power train systems for light and heavy duty co-road fleets.

This year's guest speaker was Jamie Williams, director of Clemson's National Scholars Program and associate director of the Calhoun Honors College.

Founded in 2004 at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, Delta Alpha Pi recognizes the academic accomplishments of honor students with disabilities. The three Greek letters stand for disability, achievement and pride.

All invited students with a documented disability must work with the university's office of Student Disability Services and demonstrate an interest in the issues faced by those with disabilities. To be eligible for invitation, undergraduate students must have completed a minimum of 24 credits and attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.10. Graduate students must have completed a minimum of 18 credits and earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.30.
