Malcolm Clayton of Orlando Working With His Fraternity to Repeat as Clemson 'chapter of Excellence'

2012 Oct 19

Malcolm Clayton of Orlando is a member of Clemson University's chapter of Alpha Gamma Rho, Beta Zeta chapter, which is working to repeat this year as a "Chapter of Excellence" fraternity.

Clayton, a freshman majoring in Engineering, said all members of the chapter are working to receive the designation again this year.

To be considered for an excellence award, sororities and fraternities have to excel in the minimum expectations in anti-hazing, academics, advising, financial management, community standards, administrative management, new-member education and risk management. All chapters are required to turn in an annual report that shows they accomplished the requirements.

Chapters also must show excellence in social policy requirements, responsible citizenship, intellectual development, defined and organized recruitment and goal-planning.

Some other goals of the chapter are raising funds for its newly built house and raising money for a scholarship for Clemson students with life threatening illness in memory of Jonathan Daniel Pelletier.
