Clemson University Graduate Lauren Hock of Naperville receives Fulbright grant

Lauren Hock of Naperville, a Clemson University graduate, received a Fulbright grant to teach abroad.

Hock received a grant for an English teaching assistantship in Ecuador. Hock graduated in May with a degree in psychology. Hock spent a summer in Costa Rica learning Spanish and has tutored English as a Second Language courses in both the U.S. and Ecuador. She was a member of Undergraduate Student Government, Clemson's chamber choir and a cappella groups and was a resident assistant for university housing. Her senior thesis for the Calhoun Honors College explored attitudes toward obesity and health behavior modification. During her time in Ecuador, she will spend time volunteering at a medical clinic to prepare for her future plans to attend medical school.

The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and was created to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and those in other countries.
