Amanda Elizabeth Jirgal of Bardonia spends spring break helping Honduran villagers

Amanda Elizabeth Jirgal of Bardonia and other Clemson University students spent their spring breaks helping build a school with Students Helping Honduras.

Jirgal is a Sophomore Chemistry major.

Jirgal worked alongside students from other universities to build Democracia Middle School in El Progresso. The project was started by Clemson students during this past winter break.

The students mixed and poured concrete before laying the cinder block foundation of the school. They had the opportunity to spend time with the children of the village, tutoring them or starting games of soccer.
